How I found Kapwing
A few years back, I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos, happy, funny, and even the saddest ones. As I sat down to watch them, I though to myself, maybe I can make my very own YouTube channel in order to share my videos and gain my own audience. But to start a YouTube channel, the first thing needed is a video editor, so on Google, I typed the search term “video editor”, and that’s how I found Kapwing.
After I created my account, I uploaded a pre-recorded video clip and got to work. I uploaded some pictures, texts, and selected the transitions. Afterwards I exported the video, downloaded it, and then uploaded it onto YouTube. The video turned out well and that’s when I decided to stay on Kapwing, later upgrading to the pro version for more features. The search to find a new video editor is now over.

Why I like about Kapwing
Link to Directly Paste YouTube Videos
This is my favorite No.1 feature of Kapwing. You can take a link of a YouTube video and paste it in the audio section and the video will automatically be generated, at first as an audio, and then the video upon clicking the file in the media tab. This saves time in having to download the video, and then uploading it into the studio, especially when adding a background music. Just make sure the video isn’t copyrighted, and you’ll be fine. This also helps if you want to edit a video of your own if you’d alreay posted it on YouTube, and want to edit it, too.

Transitions on all layers (Photos, videos, text, etc.)
No other video editor will allow you to add transitions to any other layers besides a video, which I find very lame, only Kapwing does. Transitions can be added on any layer on Kapwing, whether the layer be a picture, video, or even a text. This attracts more potential viewers and makes editing more fun. Say goodbye to old video editors.
Adjusting the Aspect Ratio
YouTube has a maximum aspect ratio of 16:9 (normal videos) or 9:16 (shorts). But no worries, if a file has exceeded the aspect ratio, Kapwing has you covered. You can adjust the aspect ratio by clicking “Resize Canvas”, and the drop-down menu there will list the preferences of the aspect ratio you need depending on the social media platform (besides YouTube). The file will then fit into the canvas with some contents of the picture/video cut out, but that’s okay.
Multi-Task behind your back
Kapwing is not only your personal workspace, but your best friend. Besides creating videos, you can make thumbnails and posters too. Also Kapwing is not just for fun, but can be used to create business presentations with the help of the built-in templates within. No more leaving the virtual workspace to do something else, kapwing has all that.
Variety of Fonts included in text feature
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher have built-in variations of text files, so does Kapwing. There are about 30 to 40, or more fonts to choose from. It is also possible to adjust the size and color (text and outline). You can add your own custom font, but you’ll need to upgrade to the pro plan for that feature (more on that in the end). It’s fun to use, too.
Keeping track of your media uploads
Another nice feature is that Kapwing has a media tab to keep track of your photos and videos that are being used in your project. If you deleted the file by mistake, it will still be stored in the media tab and can easily be recovered by clicking the file again. This reduces having to go into the file explorer and dig through several other files just to uncover the deleted one that disappeared from the project.
24/7 support
No one is perfect, and so is the internet, and that also includes Kapwing. Sometimes the workspace can glitch out or the project will not export, not an issue. Should you run into any problems, you can contact the Kapwing team using the help feature in the workspace describing the issue, and they usually respond in a matter of time and will solve the issue ao that your video can be exported successfully and onto YouTube. The team is always there when an issue arises.
